To photograph the mess

Last week I made iced coffee, pour it in a lovely cup, grab my book and the coffee sachet and put them all on the floor to photograph. The natural light was so perfect, not yellowish, and I loved the pictures I took. After that, I decided to photograph the mess that was my desk, my pyjamas and birkin. Also, my computer and the cute blog I was reading at the time.

Guess what? I liked these photos even more! They look so nice that I'm posting them instead. We "expect" to take great photos and we forget that this is not all that matters. Of course I still want to take good pictures (even the mess was photogenic at the time), but I'm trying to focus on something else. You can totally do both: the random and the "pretty" ones. And it's also fun to photograph the "backstage" of the ones that we strain so hard to make it look good. I even used my little canon powershot because I love the way the photos look in it. Sometimes I forget how amazing it is to shoot with it.

Hope you like the pictures as much as me, xo

Books for 2017

So, 2016 was not my best year (especially when 2015 was one of the best years ever) and one of the things that made me really bad was not reading as much as I'd like. But I decided that I'm trying harder to do the things I like this year; reading is one of them.
To keep my focus, I made a list of the books I intend to read in 2017. Instead of putting all books I want to read, I'm adding the ones I know I'll, at least, start to read.
I took photos of some books of my list and they are so amazing I want to hug them all 😀
At the end of the post, there's the full list, included the books I already read.

Hope you can read all the books you want too, xo

Book list of 2017:

A Menina que tinha Dons, M. R. Carey
The Cursed Child, (anyone but Rowling)
Buracos Negros, Stephen Hawking
A alma de Leonardo Da Vinci, Fritjof Capra

Andy Warhol, Tony Scherman e David Dalton
Casual Vacancy, J.K. Rowling

Another lazy Sunday

So, we're starting the second week of 2017 already! (A very late Happy New Year)

I wanted to post this yesterday  but I was so lazy :) It has been a really hot summer and I just stayed in the couch all day watching cartoons. Actually, all my Sundays have been lazy cause it's too hot to do something outside.

I haven't made resolutions for this year because I'm trying to ~go with the flow~ but one thing that I really want to go back is to photography and my art. Not the way like "I have to take the perfect photo" or "I have to draw just like Da Vinci". This behavior only got me down last year and I don't want to let that affect me again. That's why the pictures I took yesterday are not very carefully taken or arrenged like I always try to do.
The photos are a little blurred or dark and the quality is not the best one, but they mean something for me. Like the selfie I took in the bathroom. Even after the bath, I was a mess and I didn't mind at all. None of the pictures have been cut or edited. I like them just as they are and how they show how my day was and I expect to keep being: calm and amusing :)

Hope you have a lovely year, x
